A flare stack or gas flare is a tall vertical vent pipe used in petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical plants and natural gas processing plants for burning off flammable gas released by pressure relief valves during unplanned over-pressuring of plant equipment.

Water bath indirect heaters are designed to heat gases without the requirement of a high pressure vessel. The heater is defined indirect because the gas flow in a coil, which is submerged in an aqueous solution. This solution is heated by a combustion chamber equipped with a burner.

Meter and regulator stations are the points of transfer where the pipeline company measures gas quality and volumetric flow, and reduces the pressure of the gas to feed natural gas distribution systems. Gate stations serve three purposes. First, they reduce the pressure, then an odorant is added and finally, the gate station measures the flow rate of the gas.

Filter separators are designed to give a very high efficiency removal of liquid and solid particles from a gas stream. Performance takes place through multiple stages, typically consisting of filter elements combined with vane unit.

Dry gas filter is used for trapping and retaining fine particles, which are the most damaging and have harmful effects on pressure equipments.

Odorization is the process of injecting odorants into a gas, typically performed with an odorizer, in a city gas station so that the gas is detectable by smell. There are two types of odorizers: Injection Type Odorizer By Pass Type Odorizer.
